In this age of digital reproduction, what really separates a picture from a painting? If I can recreate the nuance of a painting within a photograph, what does it become? What does it mean for the painting? Is its labor devalued?
These are all pictures of domestic objects. See how they transcend, once blurred to the point of abstraction.

Hair Paths
One-color 15" x 30" repeat pattern on cotton, Spring 2022.
This piece is a continuation of my interest in the relationships between hair, femininity and identity, where I use hair to create a repeated pattern. The work was made during an apprenticeship at the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia where I learned how to develop and fabricate large-scale screen printed patterns on fabric.
