bedikah is a self-performed internal examination of the vaginal canal. The practice is done with a cloth as a part of exiting Niddah or on days when a married woman is anticipating her period. If there is blood on the cloth, the woman in in Niddah, a state of impurity, and if she is exiting Niddah she must do this practice every day until it is clean. Bedikot (2022) uses the practice of bedika to explore the power of the female body and its ability to repel, repulse, expel, disgust, discharge and create life. Each piece is a portrait, monstrous and beautiful at the same time.
